Creek duo named in All Star Team

Diamond Creek netballers Stacey Gannon and Bronwyn Taylor were both selected in the 2013 V/Line State Titles Open All Star Team.

Competing for Jika at the State Titles, the duo was amongst 12 netballers selected in the team.

Gannon was selected as a goaler, while Taylor earned selection in the midcourt.

Jika is the regional club formed by Netball Victoria as the stepping stone in the progression of netball from association level to regional level within the Jika region.

Despite Jika winning only two of eight matches at this year’s Titles, both Gannon and Taylor excelled to be selected in the All Star Team.

Gannon and Taylor were both part of Diamond Creek’s fourth-successive Section 1 premiership team in September, with the side overcoming Lakeside 37-30 in the Grand Final.

It was Diamond Creek’s fifth premiership in just six years of the league’s netball competition.

This year’s netball State Titles wrapped up earlier this month, with Gippsland named premiers after a one-goal win over Dandenong Valley in the Grand Final.

The Northern Netball League congratulates Stacey and Bronwyn on their selection in the All Star Team.
