Dean steps up at Eagles

Brad Dean has been appointed coach of Whittlesea Football Club in season 2014.

Dean has served as senior assistant to Peter Bugden for the past four seasons, overseeing Division 2 premiership victories in 2013 and 2010.

The Eagles will return to the top flight in season 2014 after a one-year stint in Division 2 this year.

The club is yet to appoint coaches for its reserves or under-19s team, with an announcement to be made at a later date.

Bugden announced late in the 2013 home and away season that he would not be re-applying for Whittlesea’s senior coaching position next season, a post he has occupied for the past six years.

Late last week he was appointed as senior coach of Craigieburn in the Essendon District Football League (EDFL).

Meantime, Whittlesea’s under-19 premiership coach Jarrad Carey has been appointed senior coach of Kilmore in the Riddle District Football League (RDFL).
