Eagles sign McDougall as women’s coach

Whittlesea has confirmed the appointment of Aimee McDougall as the club’s senior women’s coach for at least the next two seasons.

McDougall comes to the club after a stint as an assistant coach at with Diamond Creek Women’s and has also spent time with Carlton’s VFL and VFLW programs as well as the Northern Knights.

She replaces Jarrod Kendall who had held the role since 2020.

The Eagles played in Cleaning Melbourne Division 2 in the 2023 senior women’s competition, finishing in sixth position with a 4-8 record.

A club statement said:

The Whittlesea Football Netball Club are proud to announce the signing of Aimee McDougall as our Senior Women’s Coach for the 2024 & 2025 seasons.

Aimee brings a wealth of experience, along with great football knowledge.

Aimee has been part of the coaching staff at Carlton VFL and VFLW programs where she has been an assistant coach at both. She has also held positions at TAC Cup Northern Knights Development Level.

Within the NFNL, Aimee has coached at junior representative level for both females and males.

More recently, Aimee has been a Senior Assistant Coach at the highly successful Division 1 Diamond Creek Women’s Football Club.

Aimee is a proud member of the AFL and AFL Vic ‘She can coach’ alumni. We strongly believe Aimee will lead our women’s program to a high level of success, helping the women maximise their playing potential.

Aimee will also play a positive and active role in our junior female football program.
