Mernda Football Netball Club has confirmed their men’s and women’s coaching staff for 2024, with Robert Fletcher remaining as senior men’s coach while Jason Keogh has signed as senior women’s coach..

After taking his side to a first Grand Final appearance in 11 years, Fletcher will continue as senior men’s coach in 2024.

In his third season at the club, Mernda finished on top of the ladder in the 2023 Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 campaign with a 14-2 record, before winning their way through to the decider, only to fall short by six points to Laurimar.

His coaching panel has also been locked in, with Jarrod King to remain as assistant coach while Brendan McCarthy has signed on again as reserves coach.

The club’s Under 19.5’s side will have a new mentor, with Joe Scordo taking the reins in 2024.

Jason Keogh joins the club as it’s senior women’s coach next year.

He brings previous experience as a player at multiple NFNL clubs and has also coached both boys and girls football.

Keogh takes over from Garth Duncan, who led the Demons to a semi-final in Division 2 this year.

Mernda will be hosting a ‘Meet the Coach’ session this Sunday afternoon, with more details in the advert below.
