Northcote Park Football Club has announced that senior coach Jason Heatley has been re-appointed for season 2014.
Heatley has had great success leading Northcote Park and the club had been in negotiations for the past few weeks to retain the 2012 Northern Football Region Coach of the Year.
In 2012, Northcote Park became the first team to win a Northern Football League Division 1 premiership after finishing outside the top three. The Cougars have once again played great football in this year’s final series – culminating in a clash with Bundoora in this week’s preliminary final.
The club feels this has been in no small way a by-product of having Jason as senior coach, with his ability to get the best out of the playing group a testament to his people management skills.
In another positive move for the club, it has also in the same week signed its premiership captain and reigning Frank Rosbrook Trophy winner, Bronik Davies.
A product of Northcote Park’s Junior Football Club, Davies played senior football with West Adelaide before relocating back to Melbourne and heading back home to Westgarth Street.
Captain for the past three years, he led the Cougars to last year’s premiership and is admired for his outstanding courage and ball winning ability.
Northcote Park hopes by securing Heatley and Davies they are well placed for a sustained run of success.
Other appointments are legendary football manager John Matthew, who will return to this role for season 2014. Present football manager and 2012 under-19 premiership coach Matt McLennan has been appointed reserves coach in 2014.
