A look back over last weekend’s action in the Under-16 to Under-18 junior competitions.

The Under 18 Girls got round 13 underway at Plenty War Memorial Park with Yarrambat and Diamond Creek Womens meeting. The Bats dominated, kicking 17 goals to have a 119-point victory while keeping the Creekers scoreless. Lilly Tebbatt and Grace Daly led the Bats, with Daly kicking four goals while Abigail Datko and Taihlar-Jo Kampf gave their best for the Creekers.

Mernda made their way to Eltham Central Park and were able to take away a 25-point win. The Demons were able to keep in front while keeping the Panthers scoreless. Ameerah Gentle and Catherine Wilson were standouts from the Demons while Ruby Bishop and Jade van Hoeckel put in their best efforts for the Panthers.

Research was out this week with a bye but remain on top of the ladder.

The Under 17.5 Boys kicked off at the Whittlesea Showgrounds as Laurimar clashed with Whittlesea. The Power led in the first term, but after kicking four goals the Eagles led at half time. Whittlesea then added another five goals in the second half to take away a 26-point win. Brodie Brander and Dallas Ornsby led the Eagles while Oliver Morgan kicked three goals. Jaxon Kueffer and Noah Key were standouts for the Power, Kueffer gave it his all as he kicked five goals for the side.

Eltham and Diamond Creek faced off at Eltham Central Park. The Panthers kicked seven goals within the first half to lead by 17 points at half time. The Creekers weren’t going down without a fight as they managed to kick six goals in the second half. It was neck and neck in the final quarter but it was the Panthers who took away a one-point win over the Creekers. Josh Murray and Bryce Fowler gave it their all for the Creekers with Jack Morgan kicking six goals for the side. Matthew D’Amico and Brian D’Intinosante led the Panthers with Rhaine Howse kicking three goals.

South Morang made their way to Yarrambat War Memorial Park. The Bats kept a strong lead, kicking 17 goals for the game, to take away a 76-point win and retain top spot. Ryan Kruger kicked three goals for the Bats alongside multiple goalkickers while Chase Pell and Jesse Fernando were standouts for the Lions.

Mernda and Montmorency met at Montmorency Park where the Magpies had a 57-point victory. The Magpies kept a solid lead as they kicked 19 goals for the day. Joshua Galloway and Patrick Johnston led the Magpies while Benjamin Feeney kicked five goals for the home side. Bailey Hockey and Justin Spadorcia gave their best efforts for the Demons.

Wallan were out this week with a bye.

The Under 16 Girls (1) kicked off at Plenty War Memorial Park as Eltham faced off with the Creekers. The Panthers were able to take away a 17-point win with Ashley Denny and Sadie Hewet leading the side, Denny kicking two goals on the day. Despite the loss Jessica Hazelwood-Smith and Charlotte Smith kicked a goal each for the Creekers.

A nail biting match took place between Kilmore and Yarrambat at JJ Clancy Reserve. The Bats kept in front until the last quarter where the Blues kicked a goal, which resulted in the game ending in a draw. Hannah Gibson and Amarni Bentley were standouts from the Blues alongside multiple goal kickers. Daisy Whyte and Madelyn Thomas led the Bats as they maintained their top spot.

Mernda had a break this week due to a forfeit from Research.

The Under 16 Girls (2) got started at AF Walker Recreation Reserve. Whittlesea were able to claim a 46-point victory over Darebin Womens as the Eagles were able to build up their lead, kicking 10 goals for the game. Zoe Hawking and Alannah Purcell were standouts from the Eagles alongside multiple goalkickers while Isabelle Masci and Millie Maher fought hard for the Falcons.

Montmorency claimed a 67-point win over Wallan at Montmorency Park South Oval. Montmorency kicked 11 goals for the day, with Chloe Hicks kicking four goals for the side while Taysha Haddon and Sky Morgan were standouts. Despite the loss Ariana Lauletta and Taleea Brown gave it their all for the away side.

South Morang made their way to Laurimar Reserve. The Lions were able to maintain a comfortable lead over the Power, which eventuated into a 41-point win for the away side. Cammryn Warke and Isabella Vescio led the Lions, with Warke and Aila McMackin both kicking three goals each. Caitlin Poulton and Harper Sequera gave it their all for the Power.

The Under 16 Boys (1) kickstarted at Eltham Central Park. Eltham kept a strong lead over Yarrambat in the first half, leading by 72 points at half time. In the end the Panthers claimed a 60-point win, with Ryan Talarico and Harrison Giles leading the side while Jalen Maher kicked four goals. In a tough game Noah Watts and Benjamin Hodgson gave it their all from the Bats.

South Morang and Laurimar met at Mill Park Lakes Recreation Reserve. The Lions were able to hit the front in the first term but Laurimar eventually hit the front, kicking 12 goals for the day. Matthew Stokes and Oscar Muldoon led Laurimar to their 36-point victory with Fletcher Carrick kicking five goals, for the Power to maintain their undefeated season. Noah Traianou and Nicholas Salerno gave it their all for the Lions.

Kilmore and Whittlesea faced off at JJ Clancy Reserve. The Eagles were able to keep in front in the opening half, leading by eight points at half time. After kicking six goals in the second half Kilmore hit the front and came away with an 11-point victory. Jaxson Meyer and Orlando Andersen-Wells were standouts from the Eagles while Lachlan Peggie and Frazer McMahon led the Blues.

Diamond Creek and Greensborough met at Telfer Reserve. The Creekers kept a strong lead, kicking 16 goals for the day and finished with an 81-point victory. Oliver Panek and Brodie Batt led the Creekers with Daniel Salvatore and Oliver Shields kicking four goals each. Max Henderson and James Georgeson gave it their all for the Borough.

Mernda and Kilmore got the Under 16 Boys (2) started at Waterview Reserve. The Demons were able to maintain a strong lead, producing 22 goals to secure a 132-point win. Benjamin Ridding and Michael Warwick led the Demons, Ridding kicking an impressive eight goals. Beau Kemp and Byron Wright gave their best for the Blues.

West Preston-Lakeside and Kinglake met at J.E. Moore Park. The Roosters produced an 83-point win with Dean DeMaria and Lachlan Hirt leading the side, DeMaria kickinh five goals. Lochaden Graham and Xavier Mogan gave it their best for the Lakers, Graham kicking both of the Lakers goals in the second half.

The two Magpies of the competition, Wallan and Montmorency, faced off at Greenhill Reserve. Wallan held a steady lead to come away with a 36-point win. Xander Castle and Jaxson Marshall led Wallan while Darcy Bishop and Billy Brundell kicking three goals each. Thomas Nailer and Zac Webster gave it their best for Montmorency, Webster kicking four goals.

Second and third in Hurstbridge and Research faced off at Ben Frilay Oval. The Searchers had an impressive game, kicking 15 goals out of 35 scoring shots to come away with a 79-point win. Archie Cleary and Hugh Hegarty were standouts for the Creekers with  Zachary Cochrane kicking five goals. Finbarr O’Kane and James King gave it their best for the Bridges alongside multiple goalkickers.
