Lane follows in Dad’s footsteps

Published on Thursday, July 18, 2013

Well done to Eltham junior footballer Lane Sinclair who has reached his 100th game for the Panthers.

The 13-year-old follows in his father’s footsteps. His dad, Brett, made history in 1981 as the first Eltham junior to reach the 100-game milestone.

Lane started playing in 2007 for the under-10s at the age of eight. This season he is in the under-14 team and has also had a couple of runs in the under-15 side.

He is also doing an umpire training course and is a field umpire for the under-9s on a Sunday morning before he plays his own game. Simply, he is happy to be involved in football in any way – he just loves the game.

Lane has always played as a backman until this season when he started playing in the midfield and he has enjoyed the change of position. However, he is happy to play most positions and readily adapts to wherever he is placed.

A dedicated Collingwood supporter, his ambition is to one day play as a rover for the Magpies.

Well done on reaching such a great milestone, Lane!
