The Watsonia Sporting Club has appointed Anthony McGregor as the club’s senior men’s coach for season 2025.

McGregor replaces George Lattouf, who departed the club late in the 2024 home and away campaign.

He has held previous senior men’s coaching roles at Warrandyte, Reservoir, and most recently at Templestowe in the EFNL.

The Saints survived relegation in MC Labour Division 2 this season, after defeating Laurimar in the final game of the home and away campaign.

A club statement said

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Anthony McGregor as our new Senior Coach.

Anthony brings a wealth of experience to the club, having been selected with pick 28 in the 1993 AFL Draft by Fitzroy, where he played 41 games.

He also had a distinguished playing career with both Prahran and Heidelberg. His extensive coaching career includes roles as Senior Coach at Templestowe, Warrandyte, and Reservoir, aswell as Assistant Coaching positions at Bundoora, South Morang, and Northern Bullants.

As a club, we eagerly look forward to the challenges ahead and embrace the opportunities they bring. On behalf of the committee, members, and supporters, welcome to Watsonia, Anthony!
