NFL statement regarding Facebook pages

Published on Friday, May 31, 2013

The NFL has been alerted to inappropriate pages on the social media site Facebook.

The site has used the trademarked NFL logo without approval or permission and the league is currently working with legal representatives and Facebook to identify the creators and close the site.

The NFL would like to remind all players and officials that they are bound by the NFL’s Social Media Policy and action can be taken for inappropriate comments or postings.

We would advise any player or official to remove any postings or comments they have made to any unofficial site using the NFL logo immediately and advise that the NFL will be reviewing all postings made by registered players and officials for breaches of the policy.
