NFNL Flashbacks – Banyule vs Thomastown 2019

Published on Sunday, May 3, 2020

Top spot on the A Plus Labour Solutions Division 2 ladder was on the line when Banyule hosted Thomastown ahead of last year’s Queen’s Birthday weekend.

Banyule was looking to maintain its unbeaten record in the Round 7 clash at Beverley Rd Oval, while a Thomastown win would allow it to take top spot from its fellow Bears rival heading into the long weekend.

Thomastown made a fast start and held off several Banyule fightbacks, before stretching to a 33-point advantage early in the last quarter.

However, the home side refused to give in and produced a stunning revival – with the final result not determined until the final kick of the game.

Relive one of the greatest games in NFNL history.
