NFNL Statement – Junior football and senior netball update

Published on Tuesday, July 7, 2020

The Northern Football Netball League has delayed the proposed start date of its junior football and senior netball competitions following today’s announcement from the State Government.

The NFNL had originally planned to have all junior football competitions begin this Sunday July 12, while the 2019-20 summer netball season was due to recommence on Friday July 24.

However, the State Government’s announcement of a return to Stage 3 restrictions throughout metropolitan Melbourne has forced a delay to the proposed start date of all NFNL competitions.

Club-sanctioned training will also be prohibited from midnight tomorrow, as per Stage 3 restrictions.

Further announcements regarding these competitions will be made in the near future after further consultation with all clubs.

The NFNL wishes to take this opportunity to thank all clubs, volunteers, officials, players and parents for your continued patience and co-operation during these challenging and unprecedented times.

Please stay safe and we urge all associated with our respective communities to heed the advice and regulations in place by order of the State Government.
