Puffa to call it a day

Brandt told the playing group that he will take a break from coaching after joining Macleod from North Heidelberg in 2007.

He started as a playing assistant coach under Wayne Harmes in 2007, was appointed senior coach in 2008 and as non-playing coach in 2009 guided the club to the Division Two flag, the club’s first premiership since 1971.

His three years as coach of the club in first division has seen Macleod strengthen its position and pushing for finals in 2011 and 2012.

Club president Michael Lovett said: “The committee thanks Puffa for his unwavering dedication to the cause over the past six years. His legacy will be that he has built a young, vibrant playing group who are on the verge of making their mark in Division One.”
