Again we saw some memorable matches, with Northcote Park and Eltham playing out a draw, while Montmorency just scraped by Whittlesea by two points – the match the Magpies’ third successive two-point result.
In Division 2 all the favourites prevailed, but not without a fight as Epping and Diamond Creek had to grind out wins against South Morang and Lalor respectively.
