The Watsonia Sporting Club has announced they have parted ways with senior men’s coach George Lattouf for the remainder of the 2024 season.

He will depart the club after six years with immediate effect, with reserves coach Gary Cutler to take the reins for the remainder of the campaign.

Lattouf joined the club in 2019 following a stint as reserves coach of Division 1 outfit West Preston-Lakeside. He has also previously served as senior coach at both Parkside and Thomastown.

He led the Saints to their first MC Labour Division 2 finals appearance in 15 years in 2023, after finishing in fifth position with a 9-9 record before going down to South Morang in the elimination final.

This year, Watsonia sit on the bottom of the Division 2 ladder, two points behind Laurimar, with two home and away matches to play out.

A club statement:

George joined us during a challenging period and played a pivotal role in transforming our team into a finals contender. His dedication, leadership, and support have truly shaped us as a team and as individuals. The boys have all grown so much under his guidance.
