Senior Teams | June 24-25 | Northern Football Netball League

The selected teams are in for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.

Greensborough have included some big in’s figuratively and literally, as Charlie Bowes, Thomas Brindley and Nathan Howard return for the Boro’s clash with Macleod.

It will be Brindley’s first game for the club since last year’s elimination final, after spending the 2023 season with Richmond’s VFL side. The Roos meanwhile welcome back Michael Hurley.

Bundoora will miss some names due to VFL commitments but will have Jedd Longmire and Nathan Thomas at their disposal when they face Banyule. The Bears welcome back Kye Yodgee, but miss Riley Loton and Jack Raines.

Jhye Baddeley-Kelly and Majak Daw headline important additions to North Heidelberg’s side as they travel to take on Heidelberg.

However, the Bulldogs will be without Jesse Tardio and captain Kyle McDonald while the Tigers bring in premiership duo Nathan Honey and Daniel O’Dwyer for their first and second games of the season respectively.

Max Dreher and Ahmed Saad are inclusions for West Preston-Lakeside in their must win clash with Hurtsbridge, the Bridges meanwhile have made no changes from the side that defeated Macleod last week.

Liam McMahon will make his Montmorency debut after spending the first half of the year in Carlton’s VFL side, with the Magpies making three changes ahead of their trip to Whittlesea.

A huge trio of stars are back for Eltham as they do battle with Panton Hill. Thomas Goodwin, Finnbar Maley and Jason McCormick all return for the Panthers while the Redbacks will miss Matthew Duckworth.

Jordan Perry will put on the Northcote Park colours for the first time since Round 11, 2022 as his Cougars take on Diamond Creek. Michael Amad does miss through injury however, meanwhile Ewan MacPherson will play his first match for the Creekers since facing Saturday’s opponents back in Round 1.

Thomastown make eight changes as they look to get back on the winner’s list when they play Epping.

Old Eltham Collegians have selected Matthew Keys for the first time in 2023 in their huge clash with Mernda. The inform Demons bring in Ryan Lovegrove-Hudson.

Leigh Gilbert returns for Kinglake in their trip to Reservoir while Nathan Andrews and Matthew Thompson will miss for Laurimar ahead of their game with Kilmore.

Selected teams for the NFNL Women’s competition will be named in the lead-up to Sunday’s matches.
