La Trobe University is accepting registrations for its online short course, Supporting the Female Athlete.

Created by the Sport & Exercise Science team, Supporting the Female Athlete is a self-paced online course to develop your knowledge on coaching and supporting female athletes.

About this event

The course is broken into four modules that take an estimated total of 5 hours to complete, followed by a four-week applied learning block where participants can put their knowledge into practice. This phase does not rely on participants having direct access to athletes during this period, and will also involve peer-to-peer discussions within the online learning cohort. Students will have access to the course for up to six months.

Registrations for this course close on 30/9. All enrolled participants will gain access to the course from 4/10.

With the increased awareness and focus on the unique physiology and requirements of females in sport, this short course is designed to advance your knowledge and skills in the areas of training, nutrition and injury prevention for female athletes. Designed to benefit coaches and support staff at all levels of sport, particularly within the development pathway, participants will also gain an understanding of how to create healthy sporting cultures that support optimal performance for female athletes.

This online short course is delivered in four self-paced modules that include informative seminars by leading practitioners in female health and performance, as well as Q&A sessions with athletes and coaches.
