The Magpies have lodged a transfer for former Port Adelaide player Ryan Willits.
The 26-year-old ruckman played three AFL games for the Power and has spent the past six years with West Adelaide in the SANFL.
The majority of movement has come from Division 3 clubs with Panton Hill, Watsonia and Heidelberg heavily involved in the transfer market.
The Saints – who finished bottom of the ladder in 2012 – have made applications for 12 players, including playing-coach Lochie Dornauf.
Heidelberg West has lodged its clearance request for Macleod utility Kyl Ewart. Ewart has agreed to a switch to the Hawks as a playing-assistant to Derek Shaw and looks to have brought another three Kangaroos with him.
It is a superb acquisition for the Hawks with Ewart capable at both ends of the field. His credentials as a forward were best seen in Round 9 last year when he booted seven goals against eventual premier Northcote Park at Bill Lawry Oval.
Elsewhere in Division 3, Reservoir has pending transfers for five players. Among those looking to join the Mustangs are reigning Division 3 Coaches Player of the Year Joel Buckley, 2011 Division 3 leading goalkicker Dallas King, and exciting youngster Adam Meroli.
Division 1 club Eltham has lost a number of important players, with the Panthers approving the releases of Chris Varsamakis (Bundoora), Brendan Ryan (Doncaster East) and David Folino (Thomastown). Leigh Cattogio may well be added to that list should his transfer request to Hurstbridge be approved.
Folino is a big coup for the Bears as they venture into Division 3 for the first time. He will be joined at Main St Reserve by former Lalor player Glenn Holmes.
The Bears, however, have lost an important asset, with ruckman Michael Thompson requesting a clearance to Parkside to join former Thomastown coach George Lattouf.
While most applications remain pending, a number were approved during the week. Brad Miller, Mark Favrin and Chaz Sargent are all officially Heidelberg players after their clearance requests were given the green light.
Northcote Park has waved farewell to premiership players Danny Rajab and Daniel Flynn, along with Guneyt Ozusen. However, the Cougars have denied Anthony Hogan’s clearance attempt to Doncaster East.
