Youth girls to open NFL season

Published on Monday, April 8, 2013

For the second year running, Montmorency will host girls football under lights on a Wednesday night to begin the season.

The action will begin at 5:45pm when the Montmorency and South Morang under-16s play the first official game for points in 2013.

A two-quarter under-13 exhibition match will follow at 7:20pm, before the Montmorency and South Morang under-19s do battle at 7:50pm.

The night will not only showcase girls football in the northern region, but will also kick-start the league’s new three-tiered girls competition – with individual competitions for under-13s, under-16s and under-19s.

Montmorency Junior Football Club gives special thanks to Banyule City Council for their support of the event.
