2024 NFNL Junior Representative Squad Announcement

Published on Thursday, March 28, 2024

The Northern Football Netball League is delighted to announce the final squads for the 2024 junior representative football program.

Following the completion of the final try out session last Sunday, the NFNL has confirmed the selected players for our Under 14 Boys, Under 14 Girls, Under 15 Boys and Under 15 Girls squads.

We would like to congratulate the players and their clubs on their selection in the squad and wish them best of luck for the upcoming games in the AFL Victoria Metro Junior Development Series (MJDS).

We also thank the players who are not progressing for their attendance and efforts during the try outs and wish them all the best for the 2024 junior football season.

NFNL Football Operations Manager Jeff Downes is excited about the opportunity that now awaits selected players in the representative program.

“The NFNL would like to thank all players who attended the try outs over the past two weeks,” he said.

“Our 2024 program will again include variable external skill specialist coaches involved in our training program leading up to the AFL Victoria MJDS Series,” he said.

“This was a great success last year in ensuring the selected players return to their club’s as better footballers at the end of the program.

“The success of last year’s program was also verified with over 50% of players in both the 2024 Boys & Girls U16 Northern Knights teams involved in the NFNL’s Under 15 representative program in 2023.”

The AFL Victoria MJDS will see the NFNL representative selected Under 14 and Under 15 Boys & Girls squads play three games in 2024 against other metropolitan representative teams.

Final squad players will shortly receive an email with further information on training.
