The Northern Football Netball League is pleased to announce a partnership with Lifeline Northern Melbourne.
Lifeline Northern Melbourne will be a charity partner of the league as the two organisations work together to curb mental health issues within the northern region.
The partnership will see Lifeline Northern Melbourne support members of the league through education and training sessions. The league will also participate in a Lifeline themed round across the 28th – 30th July.
Lifeline provides all Australians experiencing distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They exist so that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.
NFNL Chief Executive Officer Martin Stillman was delighted for the NFNL to form a partnership with Lifeline.
“The Northern Football Netball League is continuing to adapt and support the growing prevalence of poor mental health in our community,” Stillman said.
“Being aligned with a well-known organisation such as Lifeline provides the league with the resources and processes to help curb the growing trend.
“This is the beginning of hopefully a long and sustained partnership between Lifeline Northern Melbourne and the NFNL.”
Lifeline Victoria General Manager Jason Doherty said he was pleased to partner with the NFNL in 2023.
“We believe it is vital for Lifeline Northern Melbourne to partner with organisations like the NFNL to ensure we play our part in supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing,” Doherty said.
“We are looking forward to presenting valuable mental health training workshops to all NFNL clubs as part of our partnership to strengthen all local communities.”
