The 2025 Women’s Teams of the Year have been selected.
The NFNL Teams of the Year are selected based on the following criteria:
• Nominations submitted by each senior coach within each division at the conclusion of the home and away season. Coaches must select a player for each position on the field.
• A team submitted by the Coach of the Year, a new feature in this year’s football Team of the Years
• Coaches MVP votes
• Best and Fairest votes
The NFNL congratulates all players who have been selected in each of the three teams.

HEIDELBERG GOLF CLUB DIVISION 1 WOMEN’S
Six of the seven clubs who competed in the Heidelberg Golf Club Division 1 Women’s competition have a representative in this year’s Team of the Year.
Minor premiers St Mary’s have six players selected in the side, with captain Elyssa Rees earning a fifth consecutive appearance. It will be Sarah Johnston’s fourth selection in a Team of the Year and the third appearance for her Burra teammates Megan Girolami, Georgia Kitchell and Emmison Zealley as well as a first appearance for Jessica Fitzpatrick.
Premiers Diamond Creek Women’s have four players selected in the Team of the Year, with Linda Thorp earning a sixth Division 1 selection while Maykaylah Appleby makes it three consecutive Division 1 Team of the Year’s.
Runners up Montmorency and finalists Heidelberg have three representatives each. Tigers midfielder Mia Tascone earns her fourth Division 1 selection while Madeline Gallagher makes it back-to-back Team of the Year appearances.
Eltham have three players selected in the side, with Ashleigh Snow earning herself a third Division 1 Team of the Year selection.
Banyule have two selected this year, with Rebekah Watson returning to the Team of the Year for a second consecutive season.
CLEANING MELBOURNE DIVISION 2 WOMEN’S
Six clubs are represented in the 2025 Cleaning Melbourne Division 2 Women’s Team of the Year.
Premiers Lower Plenty have the most members in the side with six representatives, including their coach Stewart Lewis. Shae Audley makes a second consecutive Division 2 Team of the Year appearance alongside Amelia Mullane.
Four players come from runners up Fitzroy Stars, with Medika Bonney and Leah Seeto making their second appearance in a Team of the Year.
South Morang have three players selected in the Team of the Year, with Hailey Cordova and Ruby Failla making it back-to-back appearances in a Team of the Year.
Finalists Darebin and Kilmore, alongside Hurstbridge, have two representative each in the Team of the Year.
NFNL DIVISION 3 WOMEN’S
Nine sides that competed in the NFNL Division 3 women’s competition have at least one representative in the Team of the Year.
Premiers North Heidelberg have seven representatives, including their coach Shannon Bevis. Teresa Cassar has made it three consecutive Team of the Year appearances while Ellouise Bishop returns to the team.
Runners up Heidelberg West and finalists Whittlesea have three representatives each, with Crystal Grech and Chloe Rowan making their third consecutive Division 3 Team of the Year.
Macleod and Diamond Creek Women’s have two representatives in the team. Bentley Butler has made it two consecutive appearances for the Creekers.
Montmorency 2, Thomastown, Wallan and Epping all have one member each in this year’s Division 3 Team of the Year.
