There were a number of big results in Division 1 with Lower Plenty causing a massive boilover when it surprised Heidelberg at Warringal Park. Bundoora and Greensborough contested a hard-fought battle in the NFL Match of the Day, while Eltham recorded its third-successive win.
Whittlesea came from 70 points behind North Heidelberg to win with the final kick of the day, while Fitzroy Stars returned to Sir Douglas Nicholls Oval with a win over Mernda.
In Division 3, Panton Hill beat Watsonia in an important top-four match, while St Mary’s and Thomastown played out a thriller.
