It was a weekend like no other, with a number of upset results throwing the Division 1 competition wide open.
Macleod surprised reigning premier Northcote Park, Heidelberg came from behind to beat Bundoora, while Epping kept its survival hopes alive with victory over Lower Plenty.
Fitzroy Stars and North Heidelberg played out a Division 2 classic at Sir Douglas Nicholls Oval, with the result decided by the final kick of the day. Elsewhere, Whittlesea, Lalor and Diamond Creek all recorded big wins.
And in Division 3, Thomastown only just edged out a fast-finishing Reservoir to win by less than a goal.
