Magpies seeking coach and players for inaugural women’s side

Published on Thursday, July 25, 2013

The Montmorency Football and Netball Club, in conjunction with the Montmorency Junior Football Club, is intending to field a senior women’s team for the first time in the club’s history in 2014.

The Magpies fielded a youth girls team for the first time in 2012, which expanded to three female teams across the under-13, under-16 and under-19 age groups this year.

With a high number of queries from players looking to join even this late into the 2013 season, the club sees a natural progression for females to continue their football at Montmorency through to the senior level in 2014.

The club already has a number of women committed to playing senior football next season, but is keen to attract more players.

As such, Montmorency is also looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person to fulfil the position as senior coach of the women’s team.

The successful applicant will need to be accredited and have relevant coaching experience. They will be expected to help establish the team and develop it into the future, with the side to be affiliated with the AFL.

For further information or to submit your application, please contact Gail Blythe on 0417 358 192 or email Opens window for sending emailgazzab123@live.com.

All applications and queries will be confidential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an historic moment for the Montmorency Football and Netball Club.
