Manzoney to remain at the Bridge

The Hurstbridge Football Club has announced the reappointment of Jono Manzoney as senior coach for season 2014.

Manzoney coached the Bridges to a sixth-place finish in Division 2 this year and has been rewarded with another season at Ben Frilay Oval.

After only narrowly avoiding relegation in 2012, Hurstbridge won five matches in 2013 which included a victory over Grand Finallist, the Fitzroy Stars.

The side was also highly competitive against other top four sides and very nearly defeated premier Whittlesea away from home in Round 13.

Manzoney has a long and distinguished background in the Northern Football League, which includes 200 games as a player with Panton Hill over 14 seasons.

He also spent time as an assistant and development coach at both Macleod and Lower Plenty prior to joining Hurstbridge.

Kevin Lewis has been confirmed as coach of Hurstbridge’s under-19 team next year, with the club yet to appoint a reserves coach.
