Determined to improve on a disappointing first-round finals exit this year, Reservoir has been an active player in recruiting circles over the past few months.
The Northern Football League Division 3 side has unveiled five recruits for next season, with expectation another four could join them in coming weeks.
Forward David McGregor returns to Crispe Park after six seasons with Port Melbourne Colts and has been joined by midfielders Liam Ryan and Danny Delchano.
The club has also signed Silvan utility Steve Ennis and Pascoe Vale key position player Ben Meroli, the younger brother of Mustang defender Adam.
Coach Ross Terranova said the Mustangs would not stop at five new players, with several others on the cusp of joining the club.
"There’s a couple more I can’t tell you about at the moment, but they’re Division 1 players who are coming across," Terranova said.
Terranova said he was excited by McGregor’s return, which gives his side a proven avenue to goal.
"I’m really excited about Dave McGregor’s return, he’s a Reservoir bloke that kicked 90 goals when he last played at the club," he said.
He acknowledged integrating so many new faces into the club would be challenging.
"It always is a challenge to get everyone up and running," he said.
"But the few guys we’re picking up have played together…and are premiership players so we think they’ll gel pretty well."
Terranova said the club’s coaching staff had identified the need to add pace to their side.
"We just needed to add a lot of speed and a bit more polish with the ball because we did turn it over quite a bit," he sad.
Reservoir was bundled out of the 2013 finals series by Thomastown in the elimination final.
The club’s pre-season kicks off on November 18.
