Last weekend, Eltham Junior Football Club and Dynamic Footy Skills held a successful ‘Come Try Day’ to welcome its new junior female football teams.
Over 30 new Eltham female footballers enjoyed an expert coaching session from the NFL’s official development partner, Dynamic Footy Skills.
Throughout the fun-filled day, the girls were put through their paces participating in expert kicking, game-sense, hand-balling other fun and challenging footy drills.
Current AFL players and former Eltham juniors David Zaharakis, Nick Vlastuin and Marcus Bontempelli also came down to Eltham Central Park to help pass on their knowledge to the new Panthers.
Dynamic Footy Skills coaching director Adrian Talarico said the day was a great success.
"Everyone had a great time – the girls and the coaches too," Talarico said.
"It was a great way to welcome and introduce the girls to their new club and team mates."
As the NFL’s development partner, DFS are assisting Eltham Junior Football Club with tailored coaching and football development sessions to help its players with skills and confidence.
Eltham JFC football operations manager Paul Smith said the club is looking forward to the next DFS day at his club.
"The day was fantastic. The girls were able to meet their new teammates and also get some great advice from the DFS boys,” Smith said.
“The whole day went smoothly, DFS are extremely organised. They really know how to make the sessions worthwhile, the girls had heaps of fun while also learning about their footy.”
"We’re really looking forward to having DFS back to provide some upskill the coaches sessions with all our junior club coaches and some more skill development sessions with our other teams.”
