VFL and VFLW clubs have confirmed their team lists ahead of the 2024 campaign, with a strong number of NFNL players selected.
100 players who are aligned to NFNL clubs have been selected across 20 VFL or VFLW sides this year, a seven percent increase from the 2023 season.
There will be 64 VFL players who have NFNL ties, with over 60% of those players on primary lists, meanwhile 35 VFLW players will be aligned to NFNL clubs with over 65% of players being selected on a primary list.
Both competitions will begin their 2024 campaigns this weekend.
NFNL CEO Martin Stillman congratulated all players selected in VFL and VFLW sides, and also extended his praise to NFNL clubs who play a big role in the development of players.
“The NFNL is thrilled to see a significant presence of league players participating in the 2024 VFL and VFLW competitions,” he said.
“The depth of talent within the NFNL is evident, and the progress in player development at the club level is readily apparent. It is gratifying to witness state league clubs recognizing the NFNL as a pathway into the VFL and VFLW competitions.
“This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our clubs, something they should take immense pride in.”
