The latest edition of the series focuses on Fitzroy Stars’ skipper Djaran Whyman.
A talented junior who spent three years with TAC Cup side Bendigo Pioneers, Whyman was rookie-listed by Hawthorn in 2002.
After failing to earn a senior game with the Hawks, Whyman moved to North Ballarat where he became one of the VFL’s most lively forwards.
It culminated in him being given rookie-listed by North Melbourne for the 2007 season, where he played three senior games during the club’s preliminary final campaign.
Following his stint with the Kangaroos, Whyman moved to North Adelaide in the SANFL, before returning to Victoria.
In 2014 he joined the Fitzroy Stars and was a member of the club’s grand final team that lost last year’s Division 2 decider against North Heidelberg.
