NFL representative squad selected

The initial squad to represent the Northern Football League at the 2014 AFL Victoria Metro Championships has been announced.

The squad contains 40 players, which will be reduced to 24 prior to the NFL’s match against the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) at Visy Park on March 29.

Those selected in the NFL’s initial squad are:

The squad contains players from 18 clubs across all three senior divisions.

Bundoora has the most representatives with seven, while fellow Division 1 grand finalist Montmorency has six players selected.

The team will be coached by Northcote Park coach Jason Heatley, who will be assisted by Bundoora coach Phil Plunkett, Montmorency coach Bryan Cole and Heidelberg legend Blair Harvey.
