NFNL COVID-19 Update

Published on Tuesday, May 12, 2020

On the back of yesterday’s State Government announcement around easing some restrictions the eight metropolitan leagues met with AFL Victoria today.

The current position around training is that no sanctioned training should take place until “return to training” protocols are established, put in place and accepted by leagues, clubs and local council alike.

AFL Victoria is establishing these protocols and we hope to have these in the near future.

A number of considerations around health and safety protocols and insurance need to be worked through prior to training being sanctioned.

We have also been advised that player transfers will be re-opened soon and we will provide an update on both items as soon as this information comes to hand.

In relation to netball, Netball Victoria is awaiting final details from the State Government before it can release step one of its action plan.
