NFNL Statement: Vilification and Discrimination

Published on Thursday, July 24, 2025

The NFNL wishes to release a statement regarding recent allegations of vilification and discrimination.

The Northern Football Netball League (NFNL) has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of racial vilification, homophobic slurs, or discriminatory behaviour.

The NFNL is committed to fostering an environment that is safe, inclusive, and respectful for everyone – whether they are players, coaches, officials, volunteers, umpires or spectators. Any breach of league policies relating to discrimination or vilification is treated with the utmost seriousness.

We remind all members of our community that behaviour which undermines the values of respect, equality, and inclusion has no place in our league. We expect all individuals involved in NFNL competitions to uphold the highest standards, ensuring that everyone can enjoy football and netball in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The NFNL will continue to work actively to maintain the integrity of our competitions and the wellbeing of our community. Let’s stand together in ensuring our games reflect the positive spirit of sport and community.
