THE NORTHCOTE Park Football Club and Northcote Cricket Club will unite for a T20 fundraiser in support of the McGrath Foundation.
The Pink Stumps Day will be held at Bill Lawry Oval this Sunday, February 2 and the entire community is invited to attend.
At 10:00am a Northcote Park FC Veterans XI will take on members of the Local Fire Brigade in the first of two T20 matches.
At 2:00pm the Northcote CC XI will square off against a Northcote Park FC XI in the second match of the day.
A two-course lunch featuring a main meal, desert and guest speaker will be staged in between the two matches.
The luncheon will cost $30 per person. If you wish to book a spot, please contact Dennis McNiece on 0409 946 811 or Matthew Simpson on 0401 060 491 as soon as possible before the event sells out.
Spectators wishing to only watch the cricket matches are asked to provide a gold coin donation at the gate.
Proceeds for the day will go directly to the McGrath Foundation’s Breast Care Nurse Program.
Breast care nurses are specially trained registered nurses who act as patient advocates, co-ordinating care for women experiencing breast cancer, their families and their carers.
It costs approximately $370,000 to employ each full-time McGrath Breast Care Nurse over a minimum three year period.
100 McGrath Breast Care Nurses are currently working in communities right across the country, supporting more than 25,000 families experiencing breast cancer.
The foundation estimates that 150 McGrath Breast Care Nurses are required to ensure every family in Australia experiencing breast cancer has access to a breast care nurse, no matter where they live or their financial situation.
