West Preston-Lakeside Sporting Club is seeking netball coaches for the 2016 season.
Positions Required: Senior Netball Coaches – Division Five (Premier League) and Division A1 (Monday nights), games played at State Netball & Hockey Centre, Parkville, and training is located at Darebin Sports Centre, Reservoir.
Time Commitment: Games (1 hour approx.) and training (1.5 hours)
Coaching Accreditation Required: Coaches need to be Level 1 accredited. If applicant is not Level 1 accredited, we may consider putting you through this accreditation.
Remuneration: Remuneration will be negotiated on a case by case basis, depending on experience/accreditation/individual circumstances
Position Summary/Club Information
The Lakeside Netball Club began in 1986 and has been based in Reservoir for the last 29 years. The club has grown and evolved over the years and now field teams ranging from Under 11s to Seniors in competitions with the Darebin Netball Association, Parkville Netball Association and Northern Netball Competition. As of December 2015, the Lakeside Netball Club formally amalgamated with the West Preston Lakeside Football Club to form the West Preston Lakeside Sporting Club, and operate under the heading of Netball Department.
The club offers the opportunity for players of all ages and skills to participate and has always operated with a highly inclusive playing policy. The club has always maintained a strong focus on the development of junior sport and creating opportunities for young women in participate in a positive and proactive team environment. Coaching and training sessions are held at the Darebin Community Sports Centre, and all coaches are Level 1 Accredited.
We have over 100 members playing and training in five venues across six days every week and have been a powerhouse within community sport in the Northern Region for over two decades.
The position of a Netball Coach is imperative to our club structure and ethos. We believe this person will inspire and encourage our players as netballers and team people both on and off the court, whilst also continually striving to improve their skills base. You will aim to strengthen WPLSC’s ability to deliver the highest quality experience for all players, members, families and association umpires across our Parkville teams through your professionalism, superior organisation, innovation and knowledge.
Outline of Key Tasks & Expectations
• Liaise with the Head Coach to implement weekly training programs and sessions for your team, working with the other Senior teams on certain drills and aspects of the sessions.
• Assist the Head Coach with conducting seasonal trials and selecting teams for the Division Two, Five, and Monday A1 Parkville competitions.
• Frequently liaise with the WPLSC Netball Department Committee to provide ongoing updates upon playing results, team progress and areas of development.
• Understand the goals and key short term and long term strategic objectives of West Preston Lakeside Sporting Club amalgamation and develop a clear vision of exactly how senior teams and players will help achieve them.

• Exceptional communication proficiency combining strong written ability together with demonstrated ability to comfortably present to groups
• Successfully and confidently manage conflict and continually unite teams of people towards achieving a common goal
• Enthusiastic, energetic and flexible individual who both adapts and flourishes in changing and evolving environments
• Exudes a professional mannerism and is happy to apply themselves across a broad range of team situations and to learn new skills
