The selected teams for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.
Hurstbridge has named Tom Simpson, but will be without Tom Grimes and Jay Barbera for its vital clash with Whittlesea in Meadows Greyhounds Division 1. The loser of the game will be relegated to second division in 2019.
Jeremy Page will play his first senior game of the season for the Eagles, who have also named Riley Dyson, Thomas Falls and Matthew Coen.
Macleod regains Patrick Martin and Laurence Schubert for its home match against Northcote Park. However, the news isn’t all good for the minor premier, who has lost trio Anthony Doherty, Josh Henkel and Joel Kidd to injury.
Nick Carter and Jake Mills are among four inclusions for the Cougars.
Ahmed Saad and Nathan Valladares return for West Preston-Lakeside, however Michael Ercolano, Luke Lirosi, Jaylon Thorpe and Ozgur Uysal will miss the Roosters’ final round clash against Greensborough.
The Boro are also far from full-strength, with Lachlan McQuilken, Jason Rogers, Adrian Cataldo, Andrew Stellas, Brody Tickell all set to miss the match at J.E. Moore Park.
Bundoora has added Josh Iacobaccio and Andrew Sturgess for its home match against North Heidelberg, however skipper Brent Marshall is out. The Bulldogs go in unchanged.
Diamond Creek has received a major boost for its A Plus Labour Solutions Division 2 clash against Thomastown, with Coburg star midfielder Marcus Lentini named to take on the Bears – where a win is vital to secure a top-four place.
Tyler Barnes also returns for the Creekers, while the Bears have added Adrian Natoli.
Banyule has included Scott Gumbleton and Matthew Yarwood for its trip to Montmorency Park to take on Lower Plenty. The home side regains Fabian Dorbolo and Clint Monger, but will be Jordan Sacco.
Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 minor premier St Mary’s has named an unchanged line-up for Saturday’s second semi final against Panton Hill. The Redbacks have recalled Ryan Boyden.
Leigh Murphy returns for Laurimar ahead of its inaugural final when it meets South Morang in Sunday’s first semi.
The teams are also in for this weekend’s ANZ NFNL Women’s grand finals.
All three grand finals will be played at Preston City Oval on Sunday.
