2026 Women’s Teams of the Year

The Teams of the Year for 2026 senior women’s football divisions have been unveiled.

Selected teams were based on the following criteria:

  • Nominations submitted by each senior coach within the division at the conclusion of the home and away season
  • Coaches MVP votes
  • Best and Fairest votes
  • Goal kicking statistics and best player mentions as selected by clubs through the season

Heidelberg Golf Club Division 1

Six of the seven clubs which competed in Heidelberg Golf Club Division 1 in 2026 are represented in the Team of the Year.

It’s no surprise to see minor premiers St Mary’s 1 (seven players) and Eltham 1 (seven players) leading the way with the number of selections given their dominance through the home and away season.

Other sides represented were Banyule (three selections), Heidelberg (three selections), Montmorency 1 (two) and Lower Plenty 1 (one).

Cleaning Melbourne Division 2

The top two sides again lead the way with selections in Cleaning Melbourne Division 2, with minor premiers Ivanhoe having five players selected. The Ivies were closely followed by fellow grand finalist Fitzroy Stars (four) and Darebin Falcons 1 (four).

Kilmore had three players selected, along with two players from West Preston-Lakeside and then one each from Hurstbridge, Reservoir, Panton Hill and North Heidelberg.

Division 3

The top sides in Division 3 dominated selection as St Mary’s 2 had five selections, followed by Whittlesea with four and Macleod with three.

Fellow finalists Eltham 2 and Epping had three players selected from their respective playing squads, with two players from Diamond Creek 2 and one each from Thomastown and Montmorency 2 to complete the line up.
