2024 MC Labour Division 2 Team of the Year

The 2024 MC Labour Division 2 Team of the Year has been selected.

The Team of the Year is selected based on the following criteria:

• Nominations submitted by each senior coach within each division at the conclusion of the home and away season. Coaches must select a player for each position on the field.

• Coaches MVP votes

• Best and Fairest votes

Minor premiers Whittlesea and Grand Finalists Diamond Creek boast the most representatives in the team with four players selected.

Jaron Murphy earns his third selection and becomes the first Whittlesea player to achieve this feat since Jeremy Page, while Eagles captain Xavier Dimasi returns to the side after last making an appearance in 2019.

This is now Diamond Creek star Jacob Booth’s fourth Team of the Tear selection, while his teammates have each achieved inaugural appearances in the final side.

Both South Morang and Watsonia each have three players represented.

Mitchell Kalpakis secures a third appearance at centre half back, while Tye Hall is now a multiple Team of the Year member following his selection at rover.

Watsonia captain Joshua Boulton made it back-to-back selections in the Team of the Year and is joined by competition leading goalkicker Ethan Lowe and young midfielder Daniel Annetta.

Panton Hill have two players in the final side, with Redbacks skipper Samuel Parks securing a fourth consecutive appearance. He is now one selection away from equaling Will Box for the club record of Team of the Year appearances.

Northcote Park and Thomastown also have two players selected, while Laurimar and Lower Plenty each have one player represented, with Patrick Flynn earning a fifth Team of the Year appearance, 13 years after his first selection.
