The Northern Football Netball League’s partnership with La Trobe Sport continues to go from strength to strength.
Recently the NFNL 11&U and 13&U junior netball representative squads took part in a team building session at La Trobe Sport’s Indoor Sports Centre in Bundoora.
NFNL General Manager of Netball Lauren Theodosis said the session was a great opportunity for both sides to build connections.
“The team bonding session in partnership with La Trobe Sport not only fostered connection, but also teamwork and communication in a fun and active setting,” Theodosis said.
La Trobe Sport Community Programs Officer Wil Matheson Brown says it’s exciting to partner with the NFNL for activities such as this one.
“Whether it’s for end-of-season team break-ups, school holiday fun, or team building sessions, our programs are all about active, inclusive experiences that bring people together,” Matheson-Brown said.
“We love creating a space where clubs, families, and young athletes can connect, recharge, and celebrate through sport.”
Some of the activities included structure group challenges such as outdoor rock climbing and team-based games. These activities are just some of the offerings that the La Trobe Sport team can provide NFNL members.
Its Indoor Sports Centre has access to indoor and outdoor multi-sport courts, an aquatic centre plus celebration spaces for team presentations and shared meals.
These facilities make it ideal not only for team building exercises like the NFNL’s most recent one, but also end-of-season break-ups, pre-season culture building activities and social days for junior and senior teams.
All programs at the Centre are run by experienced La Trobe Sport staff, an aspect which benefitted the NFNL when it came to planning the team building exercise.
There’s plenty more on offer through La Trobe Sport over the winter school holidays, with two camps set to take place next month.
The La Trobe Sport Winter School Holiday Camps will run from Monday, July 7th to Friday, July 18th, held at the Indoor Sports Centre and La Trobe Sports Stadium.
There are two exciting camp options:
- Aquatic & Multi-Sport Camps: A full-day program for children aged 7–12, featuring fun water-based activities such as the Tarzan rope, water games, and free swim time, along with rock climbing and a wildlife education session every Friday, delivered by Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary.
- Ultimate Sports Camps: Designed for children aged 5–12, this fun-filled program is packed with a variety of sports and active games that build fundamental skills, teamwork, and confidence. It also includes a non-contact workshop led by Rugby Victoria, offering a great chance for kids to try something new in a safe and supportive environment.
Both camps are the perfect way for kids to stay active, make friends, and enjoy a holiday full of energy and fun!
Single Day prices for the camps come at $75. However, if you book through La Trobe’s Early Bird you get an opportunity to win 2x Level 2 Reserved Tickets to the Carlton vs Brisbane Lions game on July 10 at Marvel Stadium.
In an exclusive offer to NFNL families, the first 50 people that book in any Winter School Holiday Camp session can get up to 10% off prices by using the promo code NFNL10.
