Bulldogs battle ends in favour of North Heidelberg 1

North Heidelberg 1 have reaffirmed their position atop the Cleaning Melbourne Premier Division 1 table after defeating North Heidelberg 2 by 46 goals in their top of the table clash at La Trobe Sports Stadium.

After winning their game last week, North Heidelberg 1 continue to score another win in a hard-fought game against North Heidelberg 2 winning 74 goals to 28.

The result of this game leave North Heidelberg 1 sitting in first place of the Cleaning Melbourne Premier Division 1 ladder and still with just one loss to their name.

North Heidelberg 2 on the other hand have now dropped down to fourth place after Diamond Creek 1 defeated Bundoora 1 and Whittlesea 1 defeated Heat 1.

Dakota Blade, one of North Heidelberg’s highest goal scorer, scored 31 goals this game for her team, boosting her overall season tally to 234 goals.

Lilli Florance, Ayva Tanfara and Jodie Harris played exceptionally well this game for North Heidelberg 1 this game.

Ava Tarau, Jessica Grillinzoni, Chelsea Jones and Vanessa Smith all played well for North Heidelberg 2, their defence and fast paced movement across the court was strong.

North Heidelberg 1 started the game off strong by scoring eight goals in the first couple minutes of the game, keeping their fellow Bulldogs behind by two goals.

Both teams played out a hard-fought game initially, with North Heidelberg 1 keeping the momentum and pressure high across the entire game and keeping North Heidelberg 2 on their feet.

Despite North Heidelberg 1 being in control of the ball for majority of the game, that didn’t phase North Heidelberg 2 to keep pushing and aiming for goals.

North Heidelberg 2’s defence were consistent and strong throughout the entire game, trying their best to keep North Heidelberg 1 from getting to the ball and moving it to their side of the court.

In the third quarter both teams scored a goal within the last few seconds, with North Heidelberg 2 scoring with 27 seconds before North Heidelberg 1 scored in the last 13 seconds.

North Heidelberg 1 played very competitively, they worked together as a team to get the ball smoothly through the court to convert many goals.

And in the fourth quarter they were rewarded, scoring nine consistent goals in the last few minutes of the game in response to two goals that North Heidelberg 2 previously scored.

Both teams were playing very competitively, and the pressure and momentum was shown throughout the whole game. However North Heidelberg team 1 were the better team for the night, securing a 46-goal triumph
