Preliminary Final weekend has arrived in Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3, with both the Fitzroy Stars and Ivanhoe continuing their pursuit of the ultimate glory.

Both enter this contest off differing results last weekend, with the Stars going down for the first time in 2025 at the hands of Laurimar.

Neville Jetta’s men conceded six goals and kicked just one in the first quarter and were unable to recover from that slow start.

Allan Norris and James Dau continued their excellent seasons alongside Jordan Proctor and Ethan Penrith.

Patrick Farrant returned from VFL duties with a bang, kicking four goals and providing even more presence and flair in an already dynamic Stars attack.

Their opponents this weekend in Ivanhoe enter this contest off the back of their first ever finals victory in the NFNL at the senior level.

Kane Veliou and Oscar McIntyre starred in the Hoers 70-point triumph over an inaccurate Kilmore.

Michael Doyle also starred in his return while Josh Hogan kicked four goals alongside Liam Ward.

The Hoers have met the Stars only twice since joining the NFNL last year, losing their only encounter of 2024 by 22 points at Sir Doug Nicholls Oval.

Fast forward a year later and the Stars were comfortable 45-point victors over the Hoers on their home deck, with Elijah Taylor kicking four that day and Kain Proctor kicking three while collecting the perfect 10 Coaches MVP votes.

It’s set to be an entertaining encounter as both sides vie for a spot in the 2025 Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 Grand Final.
