The 2025 Men’s Teams of the Year have been selected.

The NFNL Teams of the Year are selected based on the following criteria:

• Nominations submitted by each senior coach within each division at the conclusion of the home and away season. Coaches must select a player for each position on the field.

• Coaches MVP votes

• Best and Fairest votes

The NFNL congratulates all players who have been selected in each of the three teams.

MELBOURNE GREYHOUNDS DIVISION 1

Nine clubs in the Melbourne Greyhounds Division 1 competition are represented in this season’s Team of the Year.

Premiers Heidelberg have the most representatives with seven, including coach Vin Dattoli. Tom Keys makes it back-to-back appearances alongside Zane Barzen and Luke Bunker while Zane Barzen and Tigers captain Keenan Posar claim their third consecutive selection.

Runners up Hurstbridge have four representatives in the team, with the Division’s leading goalkicker Joel Naylor earning a fourth consecutive selection. Lachlan East returns to the team for a third consecutive year while William Cookson earns a third selection.

Finalists Greensborough and Banyule have three members each, with Jack Johnston claiming his sixth Division 1 Team of the Year selection while Bears skipper Kye Yodgee makes it back-to-back selections.

North Heidelberg have two selections while West Preston-Lakeside, Eltham and South Morang have one each.

MC LABOUR DIVISION 2

All 10 clubs are represented in this season’s MC Labour Division 2 Team of the Year.

Premiers Diamond Creek have the most representatives at six, including coach Andrew Tranquilli. Jacob Booth returns to the Team for a third consecutive season while Nathan Searl returns and adds a third appearance in the past four years.

Third-placed Whittlesea have the second most members in this team with four. Three of the Eagles representatives in Mitchell Andrews, Jaron Murphy and Taidhg Bland return to the Team after making last year’s Team of the Year.

Macleod and St Mary’s each have three representatives, with Roos skipper Darcy Barden selected in a Team of the Year for the ninth time.

Panton Hill have two representatives in the team, with Oliver Parks making it back-to-back appearances.

Old Paradians, Watsonia, Lower Plenty and Thomastown all have one representative each.

HEIDELBERG GOLF CLUB DIVISION 3

Seven clubs are represented in the 2025 Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 Team of the Year.

Premiers Fitzroy Stars have the most members in the team with five. Among their representatives are Neville Jetta and Kain Proctor who return to the Team of the Year for a second consecutive season.

Runners up Laurimar have the second most representatives at four, with Kaiden Arthur making it four Team of the Year selections in a row while Patrick Fitzgerald earns his 11th selection in a Team of the Year.

Reservoir, Ivanhoe and Epping have three members each in the Team, with Ivanhoe coach Wayne Schultz returning after making last season’s Team of the Year while Brent Macaffer earns a second consecutive Division 3 Team of the Year selection

Kinglake have two representatives in the Team of the Year, highlighted by Bailey Robinson’s third consecutive selection, while Mernda has one representative in Billy Morrison who returns to the team.
