The NFNL wishes to acknowledge the medical incident which took place today at Lalor Reserve.
A player was seriously injured in the reserves game between Lalor and Epping, requiring paramedics to attend and deliver urgent care. The player was transported to hospital and out of consideration for the wellbeing of all involved, the reserves and seniors games were abandoned.
There is no suggestion that what took place was anything other than a football accident.
The NFNL would like to thank the medical teams of both clubs who provided critical first aid until emergency services arrived.
Our thoughts are with the injured player and their family and ask that their privacy be respected.
