St Mary’s secured its second win of the season with a 22-point win over Montmorency. Neither side was able to hit the scoreboard in the opening term, but the Burra found their grove from that point on, kicking three goals to secure the result and sit fourth on the ladder.
Jasmine Stone made her third consecutive appearance in the best players for St Mary’s along with Milly Lumkin and Charly Bandera. Ellie Thomas and Ruby-Lily Howse gave consistent effort for Montmorency across the match.
Thomastown put its first win on the board in 2026 after defeating Wallan by 15 points at Greenhill Reserve. The first half was a tussle with just the one goal kicked between both sides, before Thomastown kicked a couple of final-quarter goals to seal the win. Ruby Pantisano kicked two goals in a clear best on ground effort, supported by Taylah Liberatore and Shelby Nanscawen.
Phoebe White and Isabel Stevens were the best of the Magpies as Wallan now sit at 1-2 in seventh spot.
Rounding out the weekend was Darebin’s convincing 42-point win over Laurimar. A 16-point half time lead was quickly turned into 36 at the final change as the Falcons kicked four goals to one in the third term to put the result beyond doubt.
Nikita Magriplis kicked three goals for the winners and Trista Coco and Zara Quinn kicked a couple each along with Claire Hardi and Hayley Eynaud earning praise from the Darebin coaches. Laurimar’s Emma Taylor and Lara Hecker were judged the Power’s best.
