Who can catch the top side continues to be the question in Division 3 as Whittlesea make it five from five.

The Eagles chalked up a 48-point win over Wallan at Whittlesea Showgrounds to continue their unbeaten streak.

Captain Audrey Steinke kicked three goals and earned a perfect ten Coaches MVP votes to extend her lead at the top of the leaderboard. Olivia Hodgson also had a good day out with seven votes.

Kelly Lennox earned six MVP votes for her game for Wallan and the Magpies wouldn’t have been too disappointed with their effort against the competition leaders, holding their own after quarter time. They’ll get a chance to notch up their second win of the season against Epping next week.

Epping will also have a point to prove heading into that fixture after being handed a 14-point loss by Eltham. After a slow start there was just one point the difference at the final change and the result was very much up for grabs in the final term.

But the usual suspects for the Panthers stood up and two goals to none saw them get the chocolates away from home. Grace Brankovic was excellent for Eltham, being named in the best players for a fourth time this season along with Eloise Sanders and Chloe Scott.

Epping had a typically even performance across the board, but Paige Binning and Nancy Cakau both earned seven coaches votes for their efforts. The Blues sit one win outside the top five at 3-3 through six outings.

St Mary’s chalked up its fourth win of the season, proving too good for Diamond Creek to win by 48 points.

The Burra were in control from the opening ball up with eleven scoring shots in the opening term and could have been further in front were it not for a scoreline that read 3.8.

Despite some wayward kicking they ran away with the win in convincing fashion, keeping the Demons goalless for the afternoon.

The Burra were led by Tara Jones and Milly Lumkin who were given the nod as St Mary’s best players, while Ashley Leeson kicked a couple of goals. Laura Di Domenica and Stefanie Memos were the standouts for Diamond Creek.

Macleod made it four wins on the bounce with a 53-point win over Darebin. The Roos had the game in their keeping at half time with a scoreline that read 4.5 to nil and powered away impressively after the long break.

Hannah Gray, Abbie Jackson and Kayla North all kicked two goals each for the winners and were named in the best players. Aleisha Lannigan and Freyja Kenrick-Johnston were the best players for the Falcons on a tough afternoon.

Montmorency closed out the weekend with a 21-point win over Thomastown thanks to a three-goal best on ground performance from Sian Capito.

The Magpies made the most of their opportunities inside 50, kicking 3.3 to 0.1 in the first half and keeping the Bears to one goal after half time to secure the four points.

Lily Stubbs and Dharma Georgi were also among the best for Montmorency, while Ruby Pantisano continued her excellent season recording nine Coaches MVP votes despite the loss.

Laurimar had the bye and will return to action next weekend against Whittlesea.
