Jason Heatley will continue as senior men’s coach of the North Heidelberg Sporting Club in 2023.

Following successful stints at Heidelberg and Northcote Park, Heatley joined the Bulldogs in 2020 and in his first full season in charge this year, took the Bulldogs to a sixth placed finish, just six points shy of a spot in the top five.

Heatley is a best and fairest winner at the Bulldogs and was also a member of the 2005 premiership team.

North Heidelberg president Warren Haysom released a statement on Thursday.

The North Heidelberg Sporting Club is delighted to announce to our members, sponsors & the football community the reappointment of current Senior Coach Jason Heatley for season 2023.

An extension of Jason’s initial appointment back in 2020, his reappointment was viewed as integral in the clubs plans to continue to develop the list into the immediate future.

Nothing stays the same in local football therefore the advancement of several of our U19s players who have had a taste of senior football in recent seasons under the tutelage of Jason was important as we move into the next phase of the club’s vision for success.

This young group combined with a solid core of 22-26 year olds now possessing over 70 games of senior experience with a sprinkling of older & wiser heads offers plenty of incentive that the club is on a upward trajectory & this should remain with Jason at the helm.

We look forward to an exciting 2023.
