NFNL Talent Shines at School Sport Australia Games

NFNL junior talent was on show at the School Sport Australia Games 04 recently across boys’ and girls’ football in the 12&U and 14&U age groups.

A total of 19 players and three umpires from the NFNL were selected to participate, with some outstanding results achieved by the School Sport Victoria teams which faced off against other School Sport teams from all over the country at La Trobe University.

The 12 and Under Girls team featuring Chanel Jowett, Zoe Lewis, Milana Mazzone, Mila Colson and Isabella Allen (pictured above) took home silver in the seven-team competition, winning five of their six games.

The 14 and Under Girls Navy team went through undefeated and struck gold in Pool A with Lila Moore, Lexus Nunn and Evie Vescio part of the victorious squad. Zac Wellington and Jacob Palermo also won gold medals with the 14 and Under Navy Boys team in Pool B which won all three of its fixtures.

The 14 and Under Girls White team including Darci Di Carlo, Hannah Fitzgerald and Monique Fragale finished second in Pool B with two wins and one loss to claim silver.

Liam Carroll, Ben Genis, Jasper Jones, Levi Parker, Xavier and Thomas Bucello were selected in the 14 and Under Boys White team in Pool A, which won one and lost two of its matches against strong opposition.

NFNL umpires were also on show through the Games with Tex Borg, Jed Paterson and Kyan Luscombe overseeing proceedings across the week of matches.
