Senior Teams | May 11-12 | Northern Football Netball League

The selected teams for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.

Northcote Park will enter its Meadows Greyhounds Division 1 top-three clash against North Heidelberg without star forward Ash Close and defender Lachlan Boscarini. However, the Cougars regain Tyson Old after last week making his VFL debut for Coburg.

North Heidelberg has selected ruckman Michael Florance after he missed last week’s win over Heidelberg.

Muhammad Saad and Mark Baker will both make their debut for Macleod when the Roos travel to Yulong Reserve to play Bundoora. Reid Brandt is also among the inclusions for the Roos as they desperately search for their first win in 2019.

Damon Marcon will play his first senior game for Greensborough when the Boro host West Preston-Lakeside in a twilight game. The Roosters have selected both Sam Glover and Liam McVeigh among four changes

Meanwhile, Lower Plenty has lost Darcy Barden for its important game against Hurstbridge at Ben Frilay Oval.

In A Plus Labour Solutions Division 2, Banyule will be without Tim Martin and Ricky Dyson when it makes the trip to Sir Douglas Nicholls Oval to take on Fitzroy Stars. The Bears regain defender Daniel Camilleri.

The Stars will be without Lionel Proctor, who was among the best in last week’s upset win over Eltham.

Paul Currie and Josh Merkel will play their first senior games of the season when Eltham travels to Coventry Oval to take on Diamond Creek. The Creekers will be without leading goal kicker Nathan Searl.

Xavier Kelly returns for Watsonia’s home match against Thomastown at A.K. Lines Reserve, where the Bears regain Sal Mamone.

Elsewhere, St Mary’s has selected defender Lee Minuz for its clash with Epping – where the winner will open its account in 2019. The Blues regain 2018 best and fairest Alec Buchan and Reed Jepson, although Josh Stavely will miss.

In Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3, Adam Dennis will miss Laurimar’s trip to Eltham College to take on Old Eltham Collegians.

Marcus Webb (Kilmore), Donovan Stuart (Reservoir) and Josh Novelli (Lalor) are all in for their respective clubs in Round 5.
