The NFNL wishes to advise of several venue and fixture changes in its senior men’s football competitions ahead of the anticipated return to matches next weekend.
As previously advised, the 2021 NFNL home and away season has been reduced to 16 rounds for all three senior men’s football competitions.
This follows the cancellation of all Round 8 and Round 9 matches due to the lockdown imposed on Melbourne following the latest COVID-19 outbreak.
The NFNL board met earlier this week to discuss venue and fixture changes to ensure all teams receive an equal amount of home and away games following the loss of the previous two rounds.
All senior men’s football clubs will play eight home matches and eight away matches across the 16-round home and away season.
To allow this to occur, the NFNL wishes to advise of the following venue and fixture changes.
MEADOWS GREYHOUNDS DIVISION 1
Round 10 date change
Macleod vs North Heidelberg moved from Saturday June 12 to Saturday June 19
Round 11 venue change
Greensborough vs Macleod becomes Macleod vs Greensborough at De Winton Park
Round 12 venue change
Hurstbridge vs Greensborough becomes Greensborough vs Hurstbridge at Greensborough War Memorial Park
Round 16 venue change
Heidelberg vs North Heidelberg becomes North Heidelberg vs Heidelberg at Shelley Reserve
MC LABOUR DIVISION 2
Round 17 venue change
Thomastown vs Banyule becomes Banyule vs Thomastown at Beverley Rd Oval
HEIDELBERG GOLF CLUB DIVISION 3
All Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 will also play eight home matches and eight away matches during the 2021 home and away season.
The below venue and fixture changes also ensure each club in Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 plays each opponent at least twice during the home and away season.
Each club in Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 will play two opponents on three occasions. One of these opponents will be a top-four club from the 2019 season, while the other will be a bottom-four club from 2019.
