Two months after a scintillating six-goal best on ground performance in the MC Labour Division 2 Grand Final, Finnbar Maley is set to join North Melbourne for the 2024 AFL season.

Maley was selected by the Roos with pick 2 in the 2023 AFL Rookie Draft on Wednesday afternoon, becoming the third NFNL player to be selected in this year’s draft.

He played 20 senior games and kicked 19 goals for Eltham between 2022-2023, playing in two Grand Finals with the club, and was also named in the 2022 Team of the Year.

The forward/ruck also spent time with Research as a junior from 2018 to 2019 and in 2023, played 13 VFL games with the Northern Bullants, kicking six goals.

The NFNL congratulates Finnbar on his selection, and we wish him all the best in his AFL journey.
