Young cubs lead the way

Joined by Carlton footballers Paul Bower, Dylan Buckley, Kane Lucas and Mitchell Carter, the South Morang under-14 players put the Auskickers through their paces in a fun-filled morning of drills and activities.

After some initial trepidation, both the Auskickers and the South Morang juniors thoroughly enjoyed the clinic.

The under-14 boys displayed their maturity by passing on some handy tips to their younger counterparts.

The Auskickers benefited from having the older boys take them through their drills – boys they one day hope to play alongside at South Morang Football Club.

The feedback from the parents at the Auskick centre was terrific and many were stunned that the boys who conducted the clinic were just 13 and 14 years of age.

While the under-14 team has endured a tough season on the field after rising from silver division to red this year, South Morang JFC and South Morang Auskick believe initiatives like this will make better players and, more importantly, better people out of the boys.
